FAQs

Our Agave Syrup is a powerful sweetener extracted through thermal hydrolysis from the fruit of the Tequilana Weber Blue Agave variety.

It is an ideal substitute for sweetening food and beverages, enhancing the flavor of recipes, as well as being easily metabolized; it is also suitable for various food styles.

Agave syrup works as a sweetener substitute in all types of recipes because of its great solubility. It is ideal for use as a functional ingredient in beverages, cocktails, sauces, jams, cereal bars, diet products, baked goods, dairy products, ice cream, candy, chocolate, meat products, and processed vegetables.

Among the benefits of Organic Agave Syrup, we find its great sweetening power with low glycemic index. Fructose does not go into the bloodstream therefore does not cause insulin production, so its moderate intake is tolerated by people with diabetes and ideal for hypoglycemics, helping both to regulate insulin levels. It can improve the cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It is of high dietary value as it has zero fat. It stimulates the growth of the intestinal flora so it can benefit people with gastritis and constipation. Thanks to the fructans, it reduces the feeling of hunger and gives the sensation of satiety. Being 100% vegetable origin, it is suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and people allergic to gluten.

By regulation, its correct name is agave syrup, although it is also known as agave honey, agave nectar, or agave syrup. The use of these terms varies depending on the commercial or cultural approach of a region.

Our Syrup is made 100% with Agave Tequilana Weber Blue variety, this plant whose name means "remarkable or admirable" belongs to the Agavaceae family now subfamilies Agavoideae; it has fleshy, rigid leaves with spines and blue-green color.

We patiently wait until our agaves mature, then the jimador (harvester) removes the leaves until they reach the heart of the agave. Once harvested, the agave is ground to get the juice from the plant through evaporation and finally to obtain our Organic Syrup.

No, because it does not go through a fermentation process, our Organic Agave Syrup does not have alcohol.

As it has a high fructose content, the Agave Syrup becomes a natural sweetener of great power and sweetens more compared to sucrose, commonly known as table sugar.

Agave syrup can be kept unrefrigerated. It is recommendable to keep it in a cool, dry place free from direct sunlight. Once opened, it must be closed properly.

The shelf life of the Organic Agave syrup is 24 months, as long as it is kept in proper conditions.

The syrup can have different colors depending on the temperature and time determined in the process of cooking the juice. It is possible to obtain this different Colorimetry to suit various uses and application.

Given its elaboration process, as it darkens, the flavour of the Agave Syrups gets a sweeter touch, characteristic of cooked agave.
